- Lansurf SMS, Sorbitan Mono Stearate, is used in many application areas particularly in food contact applications.
- This product is also found to be readily biodegradable and would not expect to persist indefinitely in the environment.
- Lansurf SMS can be used singularly are also in combination with the ester ethoxylates such as Lansurf SMS60.
- Typically this product is extremely hydrophobic and finds use as an emulsifier in many waxes and creams for household and personal care applications.
- Used in combination with the ethoxylates, Lansurf SMS is used in textiles, leather treatment, silicone oils and agrochemicals

- Storage Conditions
- Stainless steel, polyethylene or glass lined equipment is necessary for the storage of Lansurf SMS in order to prevent corrosion and subsequent contamination.
- This material can separate on standing and at low temperatures.
- May require agitation and warming prior to use.
