Deuteron® LE 50 UV is a conductivity additive formulated with tetraalkylammonium ethyl sulfate. These anti-static additives facilitate the modulation of surface and volume resistivity within diverse systems. The efficacy of Deuteron LE 50 UV's anti-static properties primarily relies on surface migration and the ionic character of the cations to achieve the desired adjustments in electrical properties.

Chemical Family: Quaternary Ammonium Compounds

Functions: Anti-Static Agent

Product Highlights
  • Deuteron® LE 50 UV is a conductivity additive based on tetraalkylammonium ethyl sulfate. The use of our an- ti-static additives allows the adjustment of the surface and volume resistivity in various systems. The effect of Deuteron®’s anti-static additives is mainly based on surface migration and the ionic character of the cations.
  • Deuteron® LE 50 UV is a liquid product diluted in DPGDA.
  • In UV and EB curable systems the use of Deuteron® LE 50 UV leads to a significant reduction of resistivity and prevents the build-up of electrostatic charge.
  • The products are miscible in all solvent mixtures com- monly used in coatings, partly slight turbidity can occur. Because of its lower active content Deuteron® LE 50 UV carries a less critical GHS labeling.

Application and Dosage Information

Deuteron® LE 50 UV is suitable for solvent containing or 100 % UV or EB curing systems to reduce the possibility of electrostatic charges.

Typical applications include:

  • Anti-static floor coatings
  • Label printing
  • Foil coatings
  • Textile printing (especially small labels)

Dosage

  • Typical addition level: 0.2 % - 5 %
  • The exact quantities to be used depend on the system and must be determined individually for the intended application.

Processing

Deuteron® LE products can be added to the system at any time during the production process or they can be used as post addition additives to further adjust resistivity.
