Trapylen® 137 X is a suitable product for coating plastic parts, particularly when used as a primer. In this application, the product is applied as a resin solution without the need for modification with other binder resins. Application methods include dip-coating, spraying guns, or the tampon printing method. A notable property of Trapylen® 137 X is its improved compatibility compared to 135 X. Xylene is employed as the solvent in this formulation.

Drying Procedure
  • Drying condition of 30 s at 80 - 100 °C are sufficient for film forming of TRAPYLEN® before application of the base coat or top coat.
  • A drying temperature above the softening point of TRAPYLEN® is recommended in order to achieve the best results in terms of adhesion strength. Typical drying condition for coating automotive bumpers is 30 mins at 80 °C.
