- Product Highlights
- Deuteron® UV RM10 leads to very resistant surfaces having very pleasant, silky-soft haptical proper- ties. Delivery as a paste allows easy, powder-free handling. The matting efficiency of the additives is largely independent from the coating‘s film thickness. In order to identify and later to rule out interactions with other additives, preliminary laboratory tests employing an additive-free basis system should be conducted.
- As thick-film (100 %) UV curing systems are very difficult to matt, a certain sensi- tivity to unsuitable additives cannot be ruled out. Silicone-based additives have for example lead to a reduced effectiveness. In thick-film applications, conventional matting agents such as silica-based products and organic matting agents from our
- Deuteron® MK-series only give moderate results. Combinations with Deuteron® UV RM10 however considerably improve the matting effect.
Applications & Uses
- Cure Method
- Application and Dosage Information
- Radically curing 100 % UV-systems (solvent-free).
Dosage
- The optimum dosage is highly dependent on the binders, photoinitiators and reactive thinners used in the formulation. In some cases other additives influence the required dosage as well, which must therefore be determined by own trials using the total formulation.
- For initial experiments a dosage of approx. 10 % is recommended.
Processing
- Deuteron® UV RM10 should be incorporated into the coating system at the end using a stirrer. It can be added either pre-thinned or pure. In systems containing pigments it should be examined whether an addition before or after grinding leads to better results. In systems containing pigments it should be examined whether an addition before or after grinding furnishes better results.

- Storage and Shelf Life Conditions
- Deuteron® UV RM10 can be stored in tightly sealed containers for at least 6 months.
- The product must be stored under frost-free conditions. A storage temperature of 35 °C should not be exceeded otherwise the reactive thinner could be damaged.
- It is recommended to stir the product before removing material, because under unfavorable conditions phase separation can occur.
