- Application and Dosage Information
Deuteron® Wax PP is suitable for a wide range of applica- tions including:
- Wood and joinery coatings
- Flexographic and gravure inks
- Overprint varnishes
- Metal coatings (can and coil coatings)
- Powder coatings
The use of Deuteron® Wax PP especially improves perfor- mance in:
- Abrasion and scratch resistance
- Rub resistance (printing inks)
- Matting (conventional coatings and powder coatings)
- COF (coefficient of friction) reduction
Dosage
- 0.5 - 3.0 % (calculated on the complete formulation) depending on binder, application and required properties.
Processing
- Deuteron® Wax PP is easy to disperse and can be incorpo- rated using a common high-speed stirrer. In low viscous systems it might be necessary to use a high shear dispersing unit to properly disperse the material. A pre-mix in water should contain a suitable cosolvent and about 2 % of an emulsifier. Suitable emulsifiers are ethoxylated grades (e.g. based on polysorbat or fat alco- hols) with an HLB value of 15.
